Sunday 30th October 2005

Ryan's dad Les organised a run around Abergavenny, South Wales with his local Classic Car club. Neil and Ria drove to Wales to take part with Ryan and Karen.

We started the run at 10:30 from the Skirrid Inn, the oldest and most haunted Inn in Wales.

Unfortunately the weather was terrible and many people didn't bring their classics due to the rain. Here are a few of the cars that attended despite the poor weather.

Austin Cambridge                        Ford Cortina                            Ford Granada

Jaguar xjs                                       Rolls Royce                               Triumph Vitesse

   MGB's                                                            Triumph Stag

Les took the lead, with Ryan bringing up the rear. The first stop was at the village of Skenfrith. We stopped here for tea, cakes and a wander around the ruins of Skenfrith Castle.

Ryan being at the back came in handy when, despite the words "DO NOT REJOIN DUAL CARRIAGEWAY" being printed in bold and underlined text on the run directions, about six cars managed to do just that. Ryan came to the rescue and led us to the next stop, Raglan Garden Centre, Karen's place of work. We arrived about ten minutes ahead of the rest of the group and after a while set off back to the Inn on our own.

Sunday lunch was served at the Inn and after we had had our fill the four of us set off up The Blorenge to take in the beautiful views of Abergavenny, and chase a few sheep of course...
